Refurbished Nokia Networks GX Series hardware supply
The Nokia Global Express (GX) is a flexible and scalable compact modular optical transport platform configurable for virtually any networking application from edge to core. Available in 300 mm and 600 mm chassis depth options – including the G31 (1RU, 4 slots), G32 (2RU, 8 slots), and G42 (3RU, 4 slots) – the platform combines transponder, switchponder, and open line system capabilities in a single system. The GX Series is deployed globally for data centre interconnect, metro transport, long-haul backbone, and subsea applications where coherent optical capacity, spectral efficiency, and operational flexibility are paramount.
Multi-generation coherent optics from 200G to 2.4 Tb/s
The GX Series supports multiple generations of Nokia’s coherent optical engines, including ICE6 (800 Gbps per wavelength), ICE7 (1.2 Tbps per wavelength), and ICE-X pluggable 800G ZR/ZR+ modules. The CHM7 sled delivers a combined 2.4 Tbps (2 x 1.2 Tbps) per module, while ICE6 in the G42 chassis provides up to 6.4 Tbps of coherent bandwidth in 3RU. Capacity-reach performance scales from 800 Gbps over 1,000+ km to 400 Gbps over 7,500+ km, with ICE7 enabling 800G services beyond 3,000 km. Total fibre capacity reaches up to 100 Tbps per fibre pair.
Super C and Super L band support
The GX platform supports Super C-band transmission utilising 6.1 THz of spectrum – 27% more than the traditional 4.8 THz extended C-band – alongside full Super L-band at 5.0 THz. Combined Super C+L operation delivers 11.1 THz of total transmission spectrum, providing over 25% more capacity per fibre than conventional extended C-band solutions. This spectral expansion is enabled by ICE7 technology and is available across the G42 chassis, allowing operators to defer costly new fibre builds by extracting maximum capacity from existing infrastructure.
Integrated transponder, switchponder, and open line system
The GX Series uniquely combines Xponder (transponder, muxponder, switchponder) and OLS (open line system) sleds in the same chassis, with tunable wavelengths at 0.05 GHz granularity across extended C-band or L-band. ROADM configurations range from 12-degree through to 66-degree nodes with colorless, directionless, and contentionless add-drop. The platform supports OpenROADM MSA compliance, OpenConfig YANG models, and NETCONF/RESTCONF/gNMI APIs for multi-vendor interoperability and SDN integration. Carrier-grade reliability is provided through redundant controllers, full NEBS Level 3 compliance, and multi-chassis management.
Nokia Networks GX Series repair services
DTC provides specialist repair and lifecycle support for Nokia Global Express (GX) platforms, focused on restoring complex coherent optical transport hardware to a fully serviceable state rather than offering best-effort fixes. Repairs are driven by detailed platform knowledge and structured fault isolation, covering coherent Xponder sleds, OLS line system modules, ROADM components, optical amplifiers, and chassis controllers across the G31, G32, and G42 variants.
Each repair is completed with defined test and verification processes aligned to GX Series operating requirements, ensuring repaired units can be reintroduced into live optical transport networks with confidence. This emphasis on validation, repeatability, and long-term sustainment allows operators to extend the operational life of deployed GX Series systems while controlling cost and risk.
DTC also provides hands-on technical support and break/fix services for the Nokia GX Series, helping resolve faults quickly and keep your network operational without reliance on OEM maintenance contracts.

Warranty and risk mitigation – why source outside the OEM?
Warranty, quality, and risk mitigation
DTC supplies fully warrantied platforms and parts across all network layers, supported by defined SLAs and quality-controlled repair services. All recovered equipment is inspected, tested, and audited at platform, part number, serial number, and software revision level. These processes are governed by ISO 9001-certified quality management systems, ensuring consistent performance, traceability, and reduced operational risk.
End-to-end audit trails are maintained from collection through resale, repair, or recycling, with transparent inventory visibility and regular reporting. This ensures customers retain full control, compliance, and confidence in the condition and provenance of every asset.
Why source outside the OEM?
Sourcing through DTC provides a cost-efficient alternative to OEM supply chains while maintaining enterprise-grade reliability. Independent sourcing enables faster access to spares through in-house, multi-vendor inventory and continued support for legacy and end-of-life platforms no longer available from manufacturers.
Vendor-agnostic sourcing also simplifies procurement across mixed-vendor networks, while reuse and refurbishment support sustainability goals by extending asset life and reducing the environmental impact associated with manufacturing new equipment.
