Refurbished BTI / Juniper MX hardware supply
The Juniper MX Series is a family of high-performance universal routing platforms designed for service provider, cloud, and enterprise edge applications. The range spans compact fixed-form platforms such as the MX204 (400 Gbps, 1RU) and MX304 (4.8 Tbps, 2RU) through to modular chassis including the MX480 (9 Tbps), MX960 (10.56 Tbps), and the MX10008 (76.8 Tbps, 13RU). All platforms run Junos OS, providing a consistent operating environment and feature set across the portfolio. The MX Series is deployed globally in service provider edge, internet peering, mobile core, data centre interconnect, and enterprise WAN applications.
Trio silicon and programmable line-rate forwarding
The MX Series is built on Juniper’s programmable Trio silicon chipsets, with the latest Trio 6 (7 nm process) delivering 70% improved power efficiency over its predecessor and integrated support for IPSec and MACsec at native line rate. Trio combines ASIC-level performance with FPGA-like programmability, allowing new features to be deployed via software updates without hardware changes. The Trio 6-based LC9600 line card delivers 9.6 Tbps throughput per slot, while the MX10008 provides 20 billion packets per second forwarding capacity with support for 10GbE through 400GbE interfaces.
Comprehensive Ethernet and MPLS service delivery
The MX Series provides a full suite of Layer 2 and Layer 3 services, including VPLS for multipoint Ethernet connectivity, VLL for point-to-point transport, and RFC 2547bis IP/MPLS L3VPN. Modern encapsulations include EVPN-VXLAN for data centre fabric, Segment Routing (SR-MPLS and SRv6) for simplified traffic engineering, and inline MACsec encryption for data plane security. These capabilities allow operators to deliver business VPN, internet access, mobile backhaul, and cloud connectivity services from a single routing platform with carrier-grade reliability and scale.
Multi-application edge platform
The MX Series serves multiple network roles without requiring purpose-built hardware for each function. The MX204 and MX304 target compact peering and enterprise WAN deployments, the MX480 and MX960 serve mobile core, cable, and midsize service provider applications, and the MX10008/MX10016 address high-density aggregation and backbone peering. SDN capabilities include Juniper Extension Toolkit (JET) APIs, OpenConfig YANG model support, Junos Telemetry Interface for streaming telemetry, and integration with automation frameworks including Ansible, Puppet, Chef, and Juniper’s PyEZ Python library.
BTI / Juniper MX repair services
DTC provides specialist repair and lifecycle support for Juniper MX Series platforms, focused on restoring complex routing hardware to a fully serviceable state rather than offering best-effort fixes. Repairs are driven by detailed platform knowledge and structured fault isolation, covering Modular Port Concentrators (MPCs), Modular Interface Cards (MICs), Routing Engines, Switch Control Boards, and power supply modules across the MX204 through MX10008 range.
Each repair is completed with defined test and verification processes aligned to MX Series operating requirements, ensuring repaired units can be reintroduced into live service provider and enterprise networks with confidence. This emphasis on validation, repeatability, and long-term sustainment allows operators to extend the operational life of deployed MX Series systems while controlling cost and risk.
DTC also provides hands-on technical support and break/fix services for the Juniper MX Series, helping resolve faults quickly and keep your network operational without reliance on OEM maintenance contracts.

Warranty and risk mitigation – why source outside the OEM?
Warranty, quality, and risk mitigation
DTC supplies fully warrantied platforms and parts across all network layers, supported by defined SLAs and quality-controlled repair services. All recovered equipment is inspected, tested, and audited at platform, part number, serial number, and software revision level. These processes are governed by ISO 9001-certified quality management systems, ensuring consistent performance, traceability, and reduced operational risk.
End-to-end audit trails are maintained from collection through resale, repair, or recycling, with transparent inventory visibility and regular reporting. This ensures customers retain full control, compliance, and confidence in the condition and provenance of every asset.
Why source outside the OEM?
Sourcing through DTC provides a cost-efficient alternative to OEM supply chains while maintaining enterprise-grade reliability. Independent sourcing enables faster access to spares through in-house, multi-vendor inventory and continued support for legacy and end-of-life platforms no longer available from manufacturers.
Vendor-agnostic sourcing also simplifies procurement across mixed-vendor networks, while reuse and refurbishment support sustainability goals by extending asset life and reducing the environmental impact associated with manufacturing new equipment.
