Refurbished Huawei OptiX OSN 7500 hardware supply
The Huawei OptiX OSN 7500 is a large-capacity intelligent optical core switching system designed as the primary service scheduling node at the metropolitan backbone layer. With 22 service slots supporting up to 28 STM-64 interfaces, the platform provides high-capacity grooming and transport of services at various granularities in both TDM and packet modes. The OSN 7500 is deployed by carriers to aggregate and groom traffic from metro access and convergence layers, supporting mobile backhaul, enterprise services, and packet transport network evolution.
Metropolitan backbone service grooming and scheduling
The OSN 7500 delivers 360 Gbps higher-order and 40 Gbps lower-order TDM cross-connect capacity, with a matrix supporting 1,536 x 1,536 VC-4 higher-order connections and 16,128 x 16,128 VC-12 equivalent lower-order connections. In packet mode, the platform provides 160 Gbps switching capacity with support for MPLS-TP, MPLS, ETH PWE3, TDM PWE3, and ATM PWE3. This dual-mode architecture allows the OSN 7500 to groom and schedule diverse service types – including SDH, PDH, ATM, Ethernet, SAN, and video – across the metropolitan backbone.
Built-in WDM for multi-wavelength fibre utilisation
The OSN 7500 integrates wavelength division multiplexing technology directly into the platform, supporting CWDM and DWDM coloured optical interfaces alongside dedicated WDM boards, optical amplifier boards, and dispersion compensation boards. Single-fibre bidirectional optical modules address fibre resource constraints in metro environments. STM-64 signals support transmission distances of 80–120 km, reducing the need for external WDM equipment in metropolitan backbone rings and enabling operators to maximise bandwidth over existing fibre infrastructure.
Packet transport network integration
The platform includes TP-assist functionality for simplified maintenance of MPLS/MPLS-TP-based packet transport networks, along with a planning tool that enables end-to-end visible service configuration and instrument-free site deployment. Protection is provided through a five-level dedicated service hierarchy – Diamond, Gold, Silver, Copper, and Iron – with ring protection supporting up to 7 STM-64 four-fibre MSP rings and 14 STM-64 two-fibre MSP rings. The OSN 7500 measures 756.7 mm x 496.4 mm x 295 mm with rated power consumption of 800W and -48V DC power input.
Huawei OptiX OSN 7500 repair services
DTC provides specialist repair and lifecycle support for Huawei OptiX OSN 7500 platforms, focused on restoring complex optical core switching hardware to a fully serviceable state rather than offering best-effort fixes. Repairs are driven by detailed platform knowledge and structured fault isolation, covering cross-connect boards, packet processing cards, WDM and optical amplifier modules, and system control units.
Each repair is completed with defined test and verification processes aligned to OSN 7500 operating requirements, ensuring repaired units can be reintroduced into live metropolitan backbone networks with confidence. This emphasis on validation, repeatability, and long-term sustainment allows operators to extend the operational life of deployed OSN 7500 systems while controlling cost and risk.
DTC also provides hands-on technical support and break/fix services for the Huawei OSN 7500, helping resolve faults quickly and keep your network operational without reliance on OEM maintenance contracts.

Warranty and risk mitigation – why source outside the OEM?
Warranty, quality, and risk mitigation
DTC supplies fully warrantied platforms and parts across all network layers, supported by defined SLAs and quality-controlled repair services. All recovered equipment is inspected, tested, and audited at platform, part number, serial number, and software revision level. These processes are governed by ISO 9001-certified quality management systems, ensuring consistent performance, traceability, and reduced operational risk.
End-to-end audit trails are maintained from collection through resale, repair, or recycling, with transparent inventory visibility and regular reporting. This ensures customers retain full control, compliance, and confidence in the condition and provenance of every asset.
Why source outside the OEM?
Sourcing through DTC provides a cost-efficient alternative to OEM supply chains while maintaining enterprise-grade reliability. Independent sourcing enables faster access to spares through in-house, multi-vendor inventory and continued support for legacy and end-of-life platforms no longer available from manufacturers.
Vendor-agnostic sourcing also simplifies procurement across mixed-vendor networks, while reuse and refurbishment support sustainability goals by extending asset life and reducing the environmental impact associated with manufacturing new equipment.
