Refurbished Cisco Nexus 9000 hardware supply
The Cisco Nexus 9000 is a high-performance data centre switching platform designed for modern spine-leaf architectures, cloud-scale environments, and policy-driven application infrastructure. The family encompasses fixed leaf switches (9300 series), centralized modular switches (9400), modular spine and aggregation chassis (9500 with 4, 8, and 16-slot options), and the latest high-density 9800 series. All platforms operate in either NX-OS mode for traditional network management or ACI mode for Cisco’s intent-based, policy-driven SDN – running on identical hardware to protect capital investment regardless of operational model.
Spine-leaf fabric design with VXLAN overlay
The Nexus 9000 is architected for CLOS-based spine-leaf topologies where every leaf switch connects to every spine, with VXLAN tunnels providing virtual Layer 2 connectivity over a routed IP underlay. The control plane uses BGP EVPN to distribute MAC/IP reachability and VTEP endpoint information across the fabric, with OSPF as the underlay IGP and Equal Cost Multipath (ECMP) routing for deterministic, load-balanced forwarding between all leaf-spine paths. This architecture supports seamless workload mobility, multi-tenant isolation, and incremental scaling by adding leaf or spine nodes without disrupting the existing fabric.
ACI policy-driven application infrastructure
In ACI mode, the Nexus 9000 is managed by a centralised APIC (Application Policy Infrastructure Controller) cluster that translates business intent into automated network policy across the entire fabric. ACI provides application-aware segmentation, automated L4-L7 service insertion, and centralised visibility across physical and virtual environments, dramatically simplifying operations at cloud scale. In NX-OS mode, the same hardware operates as a traditional high-performance Nexus switch with manual configuration and incremental automation adoption. Operators can convert between boot modes, enabling a migration path from NX-OS to ACI as operational requirements evolve.
Port density and low-latency forwarding
The Nexus 9000 portfolio scales from 1.28 Tbps on entry-level 9300 models through to 115.2 Tbps on the 9800 chassis, with port speeds spanning 1G, 10G, 25G, 40G, 100G, 200G, and 400G Ethernet. The 9300-EX and newer fixed switches achieve sub-microsecond latency, while the 9500 modular chassis delivers sub-5 microsecond performance with up to 60 Tbps nonblocking bandwidth. The 9800 series provides 36 x 400G ports per line card (14.4 Tbps per card) with deep on-chip High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) buffering, dual supervisor redundancy, and n+1 fabric module protection for mission-critical data centre deployments.
Cisco Nexus 9000 repair services
DTC provides specialist repair and lifecycle support for Cisco Nexus 9000 Series platforms, focused on restoring complex data centre switching hardware to a fully serviceable state rather than offering best-effort fixes. Repairs are driven by detailed platform knowledge and structured fault isolation, covering line cards, supervisor modules, fabric modules, power supplies, and fan trays across the Nexus 9300, 9400, 9500, and 9800 families.
Each repair is completed with defined test and verification processes aligned to Nexus 9000 operating requirements, ensuring repaired units can be reintroduced into live data centre fabrics with confidence. This emphasis on validation, repeatability, and long-term sustainment allows operators to extend the operational life of deployed Nexus 9000 systems while controlling cost and risk.
DTC also provides hands-on technical support and break/fix services for the Cisco Nexus 9000 Series, helping resolve faults quickly and keep your network operational without reliance on OEM maintenance contracts.

Warranty and risk mitigation – why source outside the OEM?
Warranty, quality, and risk mitigation
DTC supplies fully warrantied platforms and parts across all network layers, supported by defined SLAs and quality-controlled repair services. All recovered equipment is inspected, tested, and audited at platform, part number, serial number, and software revision level. These processes are governed by ISO 9001-certified quality management systems, ensuring consistent performance, traceability, and reduced operational risk.
End-to-end audit trails are maintained from collection through resale, repair, or recycling, with transparent inventory visibility and regular reporting. This ensures customers retain full control, compliance, and confidence in the condition and provenance of every asset.
Why source outside the OEM?
Sourcing through DTC provides a cost-efficient alternative to OEM supply chains while maintaining enterprise-grade reliability. Independent sourcing enables faster access to spares through in-house, multi-vendor inventory and continued support for legacy and end-of-life platforms no longer available from manufacturers.
Vendor-agnostic sourcing also simplifies procurement across mixed-vendor networks, while reuse and refurbishment support sustainability goals by extending asset life and reducing the environmental impact associated with manufacturing new equipment.
